As a diverse team with broad experience and skills, we are pleased to offer a wide range of specialised primary care services to our patients.

Skin Cancer Clinic
Several of our GPs have undergone further training in the field of skin cancer medicine and surgery. Crafter Medical Centre is pleased to provide a dedicated skin cancer clinic service. Currently, this clinic is run by Dr Matt Del Fante, on alternate Thursdays.
You can learn more about the clinic here.

Obstetric Shared Care
With Obstetric Shared Care, your GP provides most of your pregnancy care with minimal hospital visits required. If any complications develop during your pregnancy, your doctor will refer you back to the hospital for specialist care as required. Hospital doctors and midwives will care for you during labour and birth, and your GP provides the care after discharge from hospital for you and your baby. Several of our doctors are accredited to provide you with shared care: Dr Johanna Kilmartin, Dr Wendy Murchland and Dr Kerry Vlahos.

>75 yo Health Assessments
We offer a free comprehensive health assessment for all patients over the age of 75. With the aim to provide advice and prevent ill-health in the future, our Registered Nurses will cover medical, physical, psychological and social aspects of your health. These areas are difficult for your doctor to cover in detail during a normal consultation and our nurses will work with them to provide you with an assessment plan to help you maintain your good health. Our nurses can visit you at your home for this assessment or you can see them at our clinic on Belair Road. To organise a health assessment please call the clinic on 8272 5533.

Travel Advice and Vaccinations
The last thing you want is to get sick when you are on holidays, especially when travelling abroad. Our doctors can discuss your travel plans, and provide you with specific advice, medical supplies and vaccinations to minimise your risks when overseas. When making an appointment, we ask that you bring in your itinerary and any previous vaccination history to make sure you are covered. The practice stocks a range of travel vaccines (excluding Yellow Fever).

Family Planning
Our doctors will discuss all of your contraceptive options, and advise what would be most suitable for your particular needs and stage of life. Several of the doctors are also accredited for Implanon insertion and removal. Please book with one of our doctors to discuss further.
Planning to start a family in the next six months? Our doctors provide preconception counselling and assessments to optimise your health, improve your chance of conceiving and get your pregnancy off to a great start.

Immunisations
The practice stocks the full range of recommended childhood vaccinations. Regular patients of the practice book directly for these with the Practice nurse. New patients will require an initial appointment with the doctor prior to the vaccination. Please see your doctor for Meningococcal B vaccination, as you will require a prescription.
Adult vaccinations and booster doses can be booked with the practice nurse or at the time of consultation with the doctor.

Flu Clinic
Each year Crafter Medical Centre runs dedicated “flu clinics”. These generally take place in April and May prior to the winter flu season.
Patients are seen by a practice doctor and nurse. Details of times and dates for the clinics will be posted on this website closer to the time or by phoning 8272 5533.
Flu vaccination is recommended annually for patients 65 years and over and in patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes, asthma and cardiac conditions.
In these groups, the vaccine is provided at no cost to the patient through government funding. Patients in low-risk groups can receive the non-government funded flu vaccine which costs $20. The consultation in both cases is bulk-billed.
